Hoppy holidays: Frog CD leaps into stores for Christmas

By Alan Fisk / The Detroit News
Nothing says Christmas like a frog.

At least that's the thinking behind A Froggy Christmas, a new CD of holiday tunes sung by amphibians, with some human technical assistance. The tunes include:

* "Croakin' Bells," by Frog Marley

* "Blue Christmas," by Elvis Frogsley

* "O Lily Pad, O Lily Pad," by the Three Toads

* "We Wish You a Froggy Christmas," by the Surf Frogs

Of course, Greensleeves is on the CD, too, which is produced by Leapin' Records of Los Angeles (call 800-487-8659 to find out where to get Froggy Christmas).

The CD is the brainchild of piano-music producer Guy Maeda, who says he's already working on a Frogs of Summer album, with green guys singing "YMCA" and "Macarena." And for next December? Get ready for A Barnyard Country Christmas -- with horses, cows, chickens and frogs harmonizing.
